Pro Wrestling is a surprisingly deep game. I wrote a post about it some months back. The

Trojan seems to be kind of a forgotten Capcom property. Most of the Capcom games for the NES were revisited in some form or fashion but not Trojan.

And while other sports themed games on the NES got better as time went on, I don’t think wrestling titles evolved much further than Nintendo’s Pro Wrestling.

Trojan feels like a very basic template for better Capcom games.

Totally agree with Pro Wrestling. Those NES WWF games are rough

Trojan looks so cool! It's got a post-apocalyptic fantasy theme like Thundarr the Barbarian. I would love to see the hero show up in a Marvel vs. Capcom game. Maybe a redesign for Marvel vs. Capcom would encourage Capcom to revisit his series, like how Kid Icarus got games after he appeared in Smash?

I will continue to do them, at least intermittently, but only for paid subscribers. At least for now. This newsletter is a continuously evolving organism!

I wish I would have grown up with Pro Wrestling as well. My cousin and I would have gotten a lot of mileage out of it. Instead, we had Urban Champion. Even when you're five years old and you enjoy punching video game sprites, that game's only fun for a few minutes.

I used to play Pro Wrestling a lot with my own cousins. It was the coolest thing back in the day to toss someone out of the ring and then body slam them.
